May 2022 Snapshot What You Need to Know

Challenging April Conditions and Big News!

Wow, April was challenging to say the least...wind and hazy and cloudy conditions nearly every day...not my favorite conditions but it didn't stop me!  Despite the challenges I'm excited to share with you my award winning work, and two new additions to the website!

Relentless

Relentless -  I caught sight of another harbinger of spring on the coast, as three Black Skimmers passed by, gracing the shot, their low altitude precision flights a breakfast ballet seen from above in Port Aransas, Texas.

“If you want to know why the coast is such an inspirational place, ask Herman Melville, Jack London, Nordhoff and Hall, Robert Louis Stevenson or Joseph Conrad. It's a glimpse of eternity. It invites rumination, the relentless whisper of the tide against the shore.”~ John Cooper Clarke

Port Aransas Art Center Tiddle Caylor All-Member Show in March...Winner!

My special edition triptych "At Your Feet" won the People's Choice at the annual Tiddle Caylor All-Member show.  The parent image "At Your Feet" is available as an open edition print produced on metal, canvas, acrylic, fine art paper, and now even on wood.  Additionally much of my work is available in merchandise items to include tope bags, coffee mugs, and telephone cases!

If you are interested in the full triptych version as shown above contact me HERE, and we can discuss options and make it happen for you!

When it Comes Together

Divided – No surprises this morning…the wind was (and is) blowing, though the horizon was divided diagonally, clouds tearing the sky in two offered some promise for drama as the sky lightened in the east. It seemed an easy choice as I headed away from the pier, feeling confident that the setup would prevail as the sun began to herald the new day. Though with the resplendent blues and yellows, I could not help but to be reminded of the ongoing war in the Ukraine. This and so much else in recent history has served to further divide humanity, tearing a line between so many…regardless of what side you’re on…families torn apart by illness, war and other violence, ideology and more. As much as I’d like to insulate myself from it all, I know that is impossible...it is everywhere…one can only hope and pray if so inclined that one day we will emerge on the other side…united.

“The thing to do, it seems to me, is to prepare yourself so you can be a rainbow in somebody else's cloud. Somebody who may not look like you. May not call God the same name you call God - if they call God at all. I may not dance your dances or speak your language. But be a blessing to somebody. That's what I think.” ~Maya Angelou
