Checking In With Some New Work

Did you know that we are now into our fourth year, many of you have been with me since the beginning…we have grown as a family.  A family you may ask…yes,  I consider you a part of the family.  Many have become collectors of my work, either through my website, at art shows, or directly when you reach out about a “special to you piece”, and many of you have made that first    purchase at the Port Aransas Art Center where I am a member artist.  Others have made the leap and purchased their first piece, whether a large fine art print, smaller prints, and even from my popular merchandise collection.  Others have admired my work on social            media and are just waiting for that first piece that evokes an emotion…that special piece.

I thought I would share just a few new pieces that have been recently added to the website.

The Other Side - a beautiful tapestry of color spread across the sky in every direction, from the dunes looking outward at the dawning new day.

"Love does not consist in gazing at each other, but in looking outward together in the same direction."

~Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Take to the Sky - A Great Egret magically takes to the sky in Port Aransas, Texas at the Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center.

“It's not only moving that creates new starting points. Sometimes all it takes is a subtle shift in perspective, an opening of the mind, an intentional pause and reset, or a new route to start to see new options and new possibilities.” ~Kristin Armstrong

Stillness - The amazing color produced a beautiful tapestry of color spread across the sky in every direction as the sun rose on Padre Island, Texas.

“Learning how to be still, to really be still and let life happen - that stillness becomes a radiance.”

~Morgan Freeman

Hello My Friend– I had a fun morning despite a cloudless sky, getting to spend some time shooting the pier in Port Aransas, Texas…a place I had spent many a morning over the past years…always a comfortable feeling upon return…a sense of place.

“Because you know what happens when you say 'hello' or 'good morning?' You make a connection. And isn't that what being human is all about?”

~Philip Rosenthal

Promising Glow – A winter sunrise on North Padre Island, in that evocative way of an ICM…seeing it all in a different way.

“If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.”

~Henry David Thoreau

Moored - On a foggy morning I again returned to my roots among the boats and docks at the marina...something I took for granted when my life revolved around the everchanging tides and weather...finding subtle beauty hidden in the fog.   "At sea, I learned how little a person needs, not how much."  ~ Robin Lee Graham

Reflecting on the Day - today in Port Aransas as the day drew to a close, the sky offered up those signs I’m often alluding to…that things are coming together…we can see it before us, as the sky begins to color, that we chose the right place to be. In life we may not always know if the choices we make are the right ones, the path is seldom straight or smooth, the answers we seek aren’t always clear…so what can we do…other than follow our heart? Like the sunset and it’s reflections on the calm smooth waters, we too can look back, and reflect…and know with clarity that it will be OK…the path is clear.

“A work of art is a world in itself reflecting senses and emotions of the artist's world.”  ~Hans Hofmann
